This is why I Love phuket Thailand and the Similan Islands

This is why I love phuket thailand. There is so much to do if you like adventure and a busy holiday. There is scuba diving in phuket, shopping centers bowling and 1,000s of bars and places to eat.

Thailand Divers
But there are also so many places to go just to get away for some peace and quiet as well. Miles of empty beach. Isolated places ideal for scuba diving in phuket.

Thailand Divers
Friendly locals and stunning warm blue ocean always ending with awesome sunsets.

In phuket scuba diving is made easy and so much fun. You dont even need to be able to swim to take part in this program as it is not a license course. We teach you the basics, some safety skills and the safety theory then take you into the tropical waters with an expert instructor. The key is the instructor. The instructor for this must be experienced and not a gap year student doing something fun or a high season worker. For teaching then the more experience the better and as all Thailand Divers instructors are experienced career instructors then you can be sure of always getting the best. I had contacted Thailand Divers through Facebook prior to our holiday & they were really helpful! They gave me all the info I needed as a first time diver & were really easy to talk to! My girlfriend & I chose to do 3 dives at Phi Phi & when we arrived at the pier we were instantly greeted by our amazing instuctor Mike. He took us to the boat where we had a short briefing about discover scuba (as i said, we were first time divers) before getting some food before our first dive. Once we were in the water & learning all the basic techniques & skills that we needed to know. My Girlfriend was unable to do the skills at first & began freaking out saying she couldn’t do it, but Mike reassured her that she could. He took the extra time needed making sure she was comfortable in the water & even if we didn’t have as much time to actually dive down on our first dive, it didn’t matter. What mattered was the fact that Mike stayed patient with us the whole time while we were learning the skills & let us learn at our own pace so that we could enjoy the process of it all. Once we got to our second dive we were much more confident & spent most of the dive under water getting down to our 12 meter limit. I cant put it into words how amazing & serene it is watching all the fish, turtles, & other marine life just swimming & watching how they live under there. Its really something you have to experience for yourself. Overall we had an amazing day & seen so much marine life, we seen 3 turtles, 2 black tip reef sharks, an eel & a huge variety of fish! Wish we could do it again already! highly recommend this company to everyone!! Thanks again for the amazing day guys!!

MULTI BILLION TREASURE SHIP FOUND. THAILAND DIVERS PHUKET.

MULTI BILLION TREASURE SHIP FOUND.

You never know a phuket diving course may just change you life forever. here in phuket thailand we have warm clear waters perfect for scuba diving. Shallow reefs teeming with life (ideal for wooden treasure ships to hit and sink). In phuket scuba diving is well worth doing as its cheap to learn to dive in Phuket and the rewards are amazing even if you dont find a treasure a ship.

Is there any reason that the next big find can not be you. You can never find this if you do not know how to dive. Learn to scuba dive Phuket and who knows????

Spanish galleon was sunk by British guns off Cartagena in 1708 as it sailed with emeralds, two tons of platinum and personal wealth of the Viceroy of Peru – making her the richest treasure ship lost in the western hemisphere.

Colombia has found a Spanish treasure galleon that sank three hundred years ago off the coast of Cartagena, reputedly loaded with emeralds, gold and silver coins.
It could reveal one of the great lost treasure chests, with valuables worth as much as $17 billion (£11 billion).
The remains of the Spanish galleon San Jose, which sunk off the Caribbean coast of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

There are still thousands of treasure ships lost that are just waiting to reveal themselves to us. Still billions of pounds of gold, silver and jewels just waiting to be found. If you discover scuba diving phuket then who knows what will happen.

When the San Jose set sail from South America in 1708 she was carrying riches destined for King Philip V’s war chest as he fought Britain in the War of Succession.
She never arrived. She was sunk after a 90-minute battle with HMS Expedition, part of a four-ship squadron hunting the Spanish treasure fleet in the southern Caribbean.

Commodore Charles Wager described the close quarters broadsides – and said the San Jose exploded with such intensity he could feel the heat from his own ship.
“I believe the ship’s side blew out, for she caused a sea that came in our ports,” he wrote. “She immediately sank with all her riches.”

Most ship lost are in shallow waters. They may have hit a reef or rocks just off the coast. They may have been attacked after leaving port before getting into open waters and up to full speed. Not many ships were lost in open sea as there is nothing for them to hit and far harder for another ship to find them in the open ocean. Once a ship is under full sail then its far harder for another ship to catch them which is why most ships were sunk just off the coast as they were far easier to find. These shallow waters just off the coast are the perfect places for scuba diving too,  just like the reefs of the Similans.

Some reports said she was carrying 116 chests of emeralds, two tons of platinum and the personal wealth of the Viceroy of Peru – making her the richest treasure ship ever lost in the western hemisphere.
The location of the San Jose has been known since 1981 but efforts to explore the ship and salvage her treasure have been hampered by a dispute between the government and Sea Search Armada, an American company, over rights to the proceeds.

In 2011 an American court declared the galleon to be the property of the Colombian state.
The San Jose is estimated to be one of more than 1,000 galleons and merchant vessels to have sunk among Colombia’s coral reefs.
Earlier this year, treasure hunters said they had found $4.5m of Spanish gold coins off the coast of Florida, part of another of King Philip’s treasure fleets shipwrecked in a hurricane while en route from Havana to Spain. There are stories and port records that mention European pirates operating around Phuket and the West of Thailand.  There are many reefs around the Similan islands which will be a perfect hideout for pirates.

So next time you are thinking of taking a holiday then why not tale a look at phuket thailand. Even if you have you Open Water or even Advanced license. What about a Wreck course so you will know how to explore a new wreck in safety. Wreck diving is fun anyway.

Then if your new wreck may have something of value that you need to bring to the surface. Search and recovery will get you lifting things from the sea bed. This again is of use. Everyday cameras, phones, watches, rings and wallets are dropped off the boats. Search and recovery will teach you various search patterns to maximize your chances of finding them again.

Thailand divers has been teaching scuba diving in Thailand  for over 14 years now and has vast experience diving in the waters off phuket. diving in phuket is easy to complete all courses in the warm clear waters that will at the very least give you a great dive. When in phuket scuba diving will change your life even if you dont find the next treasure ship.

Scuba Diving Phuket - Similan Islands - Phuket Thailand.: Lost Wrecks, Great Mysteries Just Below the Surfa...

Scuba Diving Phuket - Similan Islands - Phuket Thailand.: Lost Wrecks, Great Mysteries Just Below the Surfa...: Is phuket scuba diving about to have two great new divesites      Even in some of the most popular holiday destinations there are...

Is phuket scuba diving about to have two great new divesites

Is phuket scuba diving about to have two great new divesites

Even in some of the most popular holiday destinations there are still amazing things to be seen just off shore. Take phuket thailand for example. On the island of phuket scuba diving companies have been running for years. All divers know about King Cruiser which lies half way between PhiPhi and Phuket.

This sank in 1997 after hitting anemone reef on its normal run from Phuket to Phi Phi. Then there is the cargo ship just ff Phi Phi Lay that was put there for the divers. Again on Racha Yai to the south of Phuket there is the Huruby which was an old snorkel boat again put there for divers. Next to this lies an old wooden speed boat and now the bow section of another cargo ship tht was put there after sinking Koh Yao Yai this year. These are wrecks that people dive on all year round.

However when scuba diving in phuket there are some lesser known ones around too. There is a small wreck on the western edge of the  southern bay on Coral island. There is Marla's Mystery again place for diving on the east side of Racha Yai. This is set at a depth of around 35 meters so just out of reach of most recreational divers unless they have their deep specialty.

Again of Racha Noi which is very popular spot  Off the southern point is a nice drift dive along some spectacular scenery as you find yourself on top of a large rock formation surrounded by deep water. On the southwest side there is a wooden ship-wreck that draws a lot of interesting reef fish. There also a few other wrecks around at depth only available to tech divers so not know by most people.

Again these although not so well known there are many instructors who know where they are and can get you to them. What are the real mysteries are the wrecks that no one knows about. Ones that show up on sonar and depth sounders only. Ones that know one knows what they were, when they sank or even if anyone has even listed them missing..... Even these are not as shocking as some images that have come from the new wreck finding tool of the world Google Earth. If Google maps is right then scuba diving in phuket will change forever. Right in the middle of patong bay are not one but two massive wrecks. This is the mystery. They look like modern passenger liners that no one remembers sinking or no one reports missing. Again even this can happen.
Then where are the 20,000 plus people that would have suddenly arrive din Phukets busiest town out of the sea? Did these ships sink miles away and then on boxing day 2004 did the tsunami bring them into the bay?  Is Google Earth messing about? Who knows.  Take a look for yourself.

What ever your thoughts there are thousands of undiscovered wrecks around the worlds coast lines. All it takes is one person to decide to jump in the sea at that location. Who knows what you will find. Scuba diving in phuket as one of the top locations of the world and a great place to learn. So many courses can be done here including wreck specialty. Next time you are in phuket scuba diving or just on holiday why not think about a days diving.  Its a great place to learn as well and who knows you may be the first person to discover something new or even find these two mystery ships.
