Awesome Diving in Phuket Thailand With Thailand Divers
When people think of scuba diving they think of warm tropical waters, white sandy beaches and lots and lots of brightly coloured tropical fish. Guess what?? That is what the diving is like here in Phuket Thailand.
The big draw for people diving Phuket during the high season which is from November through till mid May is the Similan islands. This amazing marine national park offers some of the best diving in the world. This is not just me saying this but the National Geographic says so too. This chain of nine islands lies about 90 minutes from the mainland of Thailand out in the Andaman ocean. These are a must see as they are the best islands in Thailand. Whether diving or snorkeling you can not be anything but awestruck. The Similans have crystal clear water even down to 40 meters where you can still see into the distance. The water is around 29 degrees from top to bottom for most of the year and rarely changes more that a degree or two.
There is diving here to suit all levels. From new Open water divers right through to the most experienced instructor will not get bored here. Being a marine national park you do need to be certified as this is such a wonderful yet fragile location and does need to be preserved. The Similan island national park also includes the island of Koh Bon to the north which is a known cleaning station for the Manta Rays and is a regular stop for most of the Similan liveaboard trips. So far all this can be done on just a short over night trip or 2 night trip.
